Flame Birthday Banner

Jack's birthday is on Sunday and since he has never really had a party I thought this year we would try to make it a big deal for him.  Since he LOVES motorcycles I knew that would be my theme.  I ordered the motorcycle shaped cake pan a month ago, got his motorcycle shaped pinata last weekend, and then began the search online for motorcycle themed parties.  I made his invitations, ordered some fun tattoos and buttons and I also wanted to get a flame birthday banner.  I didn't want to spend any more money and so I thought I could probably make one.  Sometimes I think it would be easier to just buy it, but I had run out of time.  I bought paint, cardstock and was going to try and find some sort of flame template to copy.  Kate had a great idea of just buying some flame scrapbook paper, but unfortunately ever scrap store around was out of flame paper.  Back to painting.  I free-styled my lovely little flame seen above and then I just went over it with red and filled the rest in with black.

One down, many to go!
I think it will all come together great.  It is just a matter of finding extra time to get it done.  I still have to figure out how I am going to decorate the cake.  Luckily I've got 2 more days!
